Slate Chauffeurs ("we," "us," or "our") provides black car and chauffeur service in the Chicago area. This policy explains what information we collect through slatechauffeurs.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you request a reservation, we collect the details you enter: your name, phone number, email address, service type, preferred vehicle, number of passengers and bags, flight number, pickup and dropoff locations, dates and times, any return trip details, special requests, and any fare estimate you carried over from our quote calculator. If you call, text, or email us, we keep the information you share in those conversations.
Quote calculator. The addresses you type into the instant quote calculator are used to estimate your fare. They are processed in your browser and, when address suggestions are enabled, sent to Google Maps to suggest addresses and estimate driving distance. Quotes are not stored by us unless you submit a reservation request that includes them.
Information stored on your device. Our site saves a small amount of information in your browser's local storage, such as whether you've dismissed the "Add to Home Screen" banner and how many times you've visited, so we don't show that banner on your first visit or after you close it. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To review, confirm, schedule, and carry out your rides, including tracking your flight for airport pickups.
- To contact you by phone, text, or email about your reservation, including confirmations, changes, and your chauffeur's arrival.
- To send you a copy of your reservation request by email.
- To arrange payment for completed or confirmed rides.
- To respond to your questions and improve our service.
- To meet our legal, licensing, insurance, and safety obligations.
We do not send marketing messages unless you ask to receive them.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Netlify, which hosts this website and receives reservation form submissions on our behalf.
- Google Maps, which provides address suggestions and distance estimates in the quote calculator.
- EmailJS, which sends the confirmation copy of your reservation request to your email address.
- Our email, phone, and payment providers, used to communicate with you and process payment.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of our passengers, chauffeurs, or the public, or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation information for as long as needed to provide your ride, maintain business, tax, and insurance records, and resolve any disputes. When it is no longer needed, we delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we must keep by law. To make a request, email reservations@slatechauffeurs.com or call or text (773) 458-5736. You can also clear your browser's site data at any time to remove the information stored on your device.
Security
Our site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to your information to the people who need it to provide your ride. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. Please don't send payment card numbers through our website forms.
Children
Our website is intended for adults booking transportation. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Rides for minors must be booked by a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
